Introducing Cameron McKay

Joining our Team for 2012 - Cameron McKay

Elemental SUP is excited to have Cameron McKay onboard as our newest Team Member and SUP Instructor

Cam grew up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, so the ocean was ingrained from an early age. From the beginning Cam has had a passion for the noble boarding sports; Skateboarding, Bodyboarding, Surfing, Skiing and Snowboarding, while living in Canada. However, since relocating to Western Australia it’s SUP that’s now his main ride. With limited surfing options in Perth, and winds you can almost set your watch to in the summer, down-winding beckoned as the logical progression. And just like everyone else, one board turned into two which turned into six, it didn’t take long until he was officially addicted.

What spurred Cam into flat water racing was the challenge of the 111km Hawkesbury Classic, ‘It was a once in a life time challenge, that I now look forward to doing again!’  It was during his fifteen and half hours of pleasure and pain that a whole new aspect of SUP evolved.  Flat Water racing.

With this new found passion of flat water racing, Cam has set a number of goals for this up coming racing season culminating in the State Titles in early 2012.

Cam is helping sew the seeds of SUP through the creation of WA’s first SUP Club, with the focus on a Flat Water race series, the first of its kind in WA and generally generating good vibes about the sport to anyone (whose willing to listen or not).

Whether it be competitive racing, surfing, down-winding, fitness classes or one of our social 5:30am sessions you’ll find Cam on the water every day.
